Nigerian celebrities have taken to social media, particularly Twitter, to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the #EndSARS protest.
A year ago, it was reported that #EndSARS protesters were shot at by Nigerian army personnel at the Lekki Toll Gate, resulting in the deaths of several people.
"365 days ago, Nigerian citizens were shot and killed at the toll gate by our own military men," popular Nigerian musician and social crusader Folarin Falana, also known as Falz, tweeted on the first anniversary of the #EndSARS protest.
"Today, we honour them because they have given their lives for a cause that is greater than all of us." They will always have a place in our hearts."

DJ Cuppy, a well-known disc jockey, simply tweeted, "We will NEVER forget!" #EndSARSMemorial #EndPoliceBrutality #FlagofNigeriaBrokenHeart "The 'lazy Nigerian Youth' are changing the country and sacrificing their own lives for future generations!!!" (sic)
