The vehicle, a 14-seater bus, identified as belonging to the Plateau Riders fleet, was said to have crashed and overturned while negotiating a bend.

An eyewitness said, "The casualties might be many from the look of things."

Station Manager of Plateau Riders in Yola, Yakubu Mishelia Bukar, confirmed the accident to SaharaReporters.
