The Niger State House of Assembly has urged the Executive branch of government to restore mobile networks in Sarkin Pawa and its surroundings in the state's Munya Local Government Area because doing so will help the effort to combat insecurity.
The request comes as a result of a motion made by Andrew Danjuma Jagaba, a member of the Munya State Constituency, to draw attention to the situation of those who have been cut off from all modes of communication for an extended length of time.
As they have no way of notifying security agencies that they are being assaulted or warning other communities of an upcoming attack, the people, according to Jagaba, are prone to being the victims of attacks.
He said it’s disastrous and would defeat the motive of the government in eradicating the insecurity bedevilling the state if the network is not restored to those areas.
Jagaba added that in the past, three networks namely the MTN, Airtel, and Glo were working effectively in the communities but now, a glimpse of the signal cannot be received.
