Dr. AbdulFatah Ahmed, a former governor of Kwara State, claims that the new electoral law has given the people more power.
Therefore, as we approach the general elections of 2023, he urged Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders to welcome APC defectors and other parties that could be eager to join the party.
This was disclosed by Abdulfatah yesterday in the state during a stakeholders meeting with the PDP branch for Kwara South.
He claims that the PDP's canopy is wide enough to accommodate all interests, despite the fact that the APC and other parties would soon be defecting in large numbers to the PDP.
Additionally, he commanded them to go back to their respective wards and start organising local citizens to support the PDP.
As the PDP prepared for the 2023 elections, the party's deputy governorship candidate, Honorable Gbenga Peter Makanjuola, spoke on behalf of the party's gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Shuaibu Yaman Abdullahi.
“Where there is no love, there can’t be progress, therefore, I charge all of us to imbibe the spirit of love and unity to deliver our great party in the forthcoming general elections,” Makanjuola said
Top stakeholders from all seven Local Government Areas of Kwara South attended the meeting, including Local Government Party Chairmen, senators from the party, Rt. Hon. Babatunde Mohammed, State Party Chairman, Hon. Chief Mrs. Felicia Ebun Owolabi, Hajia Shikirat Anako, and other top party chieftains.
