President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Femi Otedola as one of the executive members of the National End Malaria Council (NMEC), a body established to combat the country's malaria scourge.

Otedola believes that giving to the cause of humanity is far better and more satisfying than making a difference in the lives of the poor.

Femi Otedola, Chairman of Geregu Power Plant and philanthropist, has recommitted his life to the betterment of humanity. More reason why he does not waste any opportunity to give back to humanity. Despite his distinct wizardry as a consummate businessman, Otedola's philanthropic gestures, particularly his wondrous donations from time to time, are a testament to the goodness of a man who cannot stop giving without blinking.

As soon as he recognizes a need for people anywhere, he moves quickly to address the situation by alleviating their sufferings through cash and kindness gifts. His extraordinary gesture has earned him standing ovations, encomiums, accolades, awards, and recognitions not only in Nigeria but around the world.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Otedola and others in CACOVID, a private-sector-led coalition led by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), pooled resources across industries to provide technical and operational support, while building advocacy through aggressive awareness campaigns, all with the goal of combating the deadly virus in Nigeria. He was one of the few who coordinated and generously donated to mitigate the virus's impact on ordinary Nigerians. Aside from the Covid pandemic, he has paid hospital bills totaling millions of Naira for several people, and he does not seek media attention for his actions.
