NSCDC nabs five suspected kidnappers in Sokoto
Five people have been detained by officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Sokoto State Command, who are thought to be involved in kidnappings in Sokoto and nearby states.

The state Commandant of the Corps, Muhammad Sale Dada, parading the suspects at the Command headquarters in Sokoto yesterday, claimed that the operatives received intelligence and sprang into action right away, which resulted in the arrest of the suspects.

He further revealed that the suspects planned and carried out a kidnapping of three people within the Sokoto metropolis and demanded over N6 million in ransom before the victims were freed.

In addition to being suspected of cattle rustling, according to Dada, the suspects are also being pressured by prominent members of the community to be released from the security services.

Also paraded were some suspected political thugs accused of attacking a personnel of the NSCDC with a machete alongside some women accomplices in possession of some hard drugs and other weapons.

He noted that it is not business as usual as his men have spread their nets and torchlights to apprehend anybody who involve in criminal activities.

Dada pleaded with the Nigerian public to provide the Corps with intelligence information to enable it get rid of criminals in the state.
