Victor Osimhen, a forward for the Super Eagles and Napoli, has won the Power House Emerging Player of the Year title for the first time at the 2022 Globe Soccer Awards at the Madinat Jumeirah Resort in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Osimhen won the top honour ahead of 14 other candidates, including Gavi and Pedri of Barcelona, Fede Valverde of Real Madrid, Arsenal's Bukayo Saka, a Bayern Munich prospect, and 14 others.
For the 12th edition of the yearly awards ceremony, Osimhen, Gavi, and Valverde were the finalists in the first category.
The 23-year-old sensational goal scorer is the first Nigerian to receive a Globe Soccer award.
The organisers of the awards, Globe Soccer took to their verified twitter page to congratulate Osimhen on his latest achievement.
“Congratulations to Victor Osimhen on winning the 2022 #GlobeSoccer Award for POWER HORSE EMERGING PLAYER OF THE YEAR,” the tweet read.
