Hon. Sunday Agwu, an advisor to Governor David Umahi and the coordinator of the Ishielu Development Center in the Ishielu local government area of Ebonyi State, was killed in a car accident on the Enugu-Abakaliki Road.
The regrettable incident took place on Sunday during the Christmas festivities, making the residents of the Ezillo hamlet and the Ishielu council unhappy.
The council chairman, Hon. Obinna Onwe, expressed his regret over Agwu's untimely demise and lauded him for being a good teammate, philanthropist, and administrator.
Onwe claims that the coordinator would visit the area to celebrate Christmas with the locals who are less fortunate.
He said that Agwu's death had been a tremendous loss for the state and the council, and he pleaded with the family to find comfort in God since He alone is aware of the actual purposes behind all occurrences in this life.
Although it had not yet been proven, it was believed that overspeeding was a significant issue at the time this report was submitted. Unverified sources claim that the man was killed while operating his car on the Enugu-Abakaliki Road.
Agwu allegedly died while receiving treatment at a hospital, and his body was transferred to the mortuary early yesterday morning.
The departure of this All Progressives Congress (APC) veteran in the state might harm the APC's prospects in the next council elections.
