Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, reported that six of the crash victims from the train-BRT accident had passed away.
When describing the number of fatalities from the train/bus accident on Thursday to the press, the governor made this statement.
On Thursday morning, a passenger train ran over a staff bus for the Lagos state government in the PWD, Ikeja region of the state.
He said, "We have 85 passengers that were on the bus," referring to the number of passengers and the seriousness of the passengers' injuries. Following a quick assessment of the different degrees of injuries, we identified 42 as moderate injuries, 29 as serious injuries, eight as mild injuries, and regrettably, six fatalities. two were brought in dead from the site which was what Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, first respondent talked about”
