Journalist Juliana Francis Unveils New Book Against Child Trafficking
Celebrated crime journalist, Juliana Francis, is preparing to unveil her latest book, titled 'We Are Priceless,' which tackles the pressing issue of child trafficking into sex slavery. The book launch is scheduled for August 31, 2023, at the POWA Hall in Ikeja, Lagos.

The event will be graced by prominent figures from various fields, including former Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Chair of the Police Service Commission (PSC), Dr Solomon Arase, and speakers like Ms Olufunke Fayemi and Mrs Evelyn Usman.

The book sheds light on the disturbing reality of children's vulnerability to sex slavery, human trafficking, child labour, and abuse. The narrative revolves around the brave escape of five children from sex slavery, revealing the harsh conditions they were subjected to after being deceived by those entrusted with their care.

Author Juliana Francis emphasises that the book serves as a call to action against the continued exploitation of vulnerable children for the sake of material gain. She asserts that the book aims to educate the public about the dire consequences of human trafficking and mobilise collective efforts to combat this menace.

Francis advocates for a proactive approach to tackling human trafficking, suggesting that empowering and educating young individuals is crucial in curbing this issue. She underscores that raising awareness and knowledge among young people can contribute significantly to preventing human trafficking.

With a background in Literature-In-English from the University of Ilorin, Juliana Francis has a notable career in journalism, marked by her dedication to uncovering crimes against humanity, particularly those affecting the girl-child. Her commitment has earned her multiple awards and nominations, including the prestigious Wole Soyinka Prize for Investigative Reporting.

As a media consultant and the CEO of Youthlens Initiative Development, Francis is deeply involved in promoting responsible journalism and nurturing young talents in the field. Her book 'We Are Priceless' stands as a rallying cry to address the urgent issue of child trafficking and create a safer future for Nigeria's youth.
