Nigerian Pidgin Wikipedia: The online encyclopaedia for Naija speakers
Nigerian Pidgin is a creole language that is spoken by millions of Nigerians as a lingua franca across the country. It is based on English, but also incorporates words and expressions from various local languages, such as Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, and Bini. It can be spoken as a pidgin, a creole, a dialect, or a decreolised acrolect by different speakers, who may switch between these forms depending on the social setting.

Nigerian Pidgin is mostly used in informal conversations, but it also has a growing presence in the media, education, and literature. In 2017, BBC started BBC News Pidgin to provide news and information in Pidgin. In 2011, Google launched a search interface in Pidgin. In 2023, Prime 9ja Online Media launched a Pidgin version of Prime 9ja Online. And in 2018, Nigerian Pidgin Wikipedia was launched as an online encyclopaedia for Naija speakers.

Nigerian Pidgin Wikipedia is a project that aims to create and share free knowledge in Nigerian Pidgin. It is part of the Wikimedia Foundation, which also runs Wikipedia and other online platforms. Anyone can edit and contribute to Nigerian Pidgin Wikipedia, as long as they follow the rules and guidelines of the community.

Nigerian Pidgin Wikipedia has over 1,500 articles on various topics, such as history, culture, science, sports, and entertainment.  The articles are written in a simple and clear style, using the common orthography of Nigerian Pidgin that was developed by linguists and experts.

Nigerian Pidgin Wikipedia is not only a source of information, but also a platform for celebrating and preserving the diversity and richness of Nigerian Pidgin. It is a way of promoting the recognition and acceptance of Nigerian Pidgin as a legitimate language that can be used for formal and academic purposes. It is also a way of empowering the speakers of Nigerian Pidgin to express themselves and share their knowledge with the world.

Nigerian Pidgin Wikipedia is still a young and growing project that needs more volunteers and contributors to expand its content and reach. Anyone who is interested in joining the project can visit the website at https://pcm.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page. There are also tutorials and resources available for learning how to edit and write articles in Nigerian Pidgin.

Nigerian Pidgin Wikipedia is a unique and innovative initiative that showcases the potential and creativity of Nigerian Pidgin as a language of communication and education. It is an online encyclopaedia for Naija speakers, by Naija speakers.
