Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, representing Abia South and former Minority Leader, has suggested that the administration of President Bola Tinubu could facilitate the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), in the interest of national unity.
Abaribe's comments were in response to the Supreme Court's decision not to release Kanu, a ruling he described as regrettable. In a statement released by his Media Adviser, Uchenna Awom, Abaribe expressed his belief that the current Federal Government should act swiftly to release Nnamdi Kanu, if for no other reason than to foster national cohesion and unity.
He stated, “As Leaders, we shall continue to press for a solution that will be the best in the circumstance.”
The former Senate Minority Leader also encouraged the Igbo community not to lose hope over what he termed “the unfortunate outcome at the Supreme Court”.
