The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), as part of Operation HADIN Kai, has successfully eliminated numerous terrorists at an ISWAP training camp located in Bukar Mairam, within the Marte local government area of Borno state.
Zagazola Makama, a renowned Counter-Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad region, was informed by intelligence sources that the air strikes were carried out on Saturday at the specified location.
Makama relayed the sources' information, stating, “The air strikes at Bukar Mairam were planned and executed based on intelligence reports indicating that the insurgents had established a training camp in the village and were converging in an area prior to departing for an attack on troops’ locations around the Lake Chad area”.
The sources revealed that the fighter aircraft identified and targeted the locations, resulting in the neutralisation of a significant number of ISWAP terrorists, with only a handful of survivors observed escaping the area.
In addition, it was reported that several of the terrorists' logistical resources and other assets were also destroyed in the operation.
