Governor Idris Signs N250.1 Billion 2024 Budget into Law
Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has given his assent to the state's N250.1 billion 2024 appropriation bill.

The signing took place at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday, following the receipt of the document from the Speaker of the House, Usman Muhammad-Ankwai.

Governor Idris expressed his profound gratitude to the Speaker and the members of the parliament for their swift passage of the 2024 budget. He lauded the legislators for their commitment to the welfare of the state's residents and their dedication to their duties.

He stated, "I can testify that it has never happened this way. We sent the budget, the house of assembly scrutinised it, debated the budget and at end of the day they passed the budget. And they brought the budget, which I have signed today."

The Governor pledged his commitment to implementing the budget transparently and prioritising infrastructural development and the empowerment of the people of Kebbi.

Speaker Muhammad-Ankwai described the Governor's assent as a significant milestone in Kebbi's democratic journey. He stated that the budget was the result of extensive consultation, deliberation, and rigorous scrutiny by dedicated members of the house.

The Speaker affirmed the legislature's commitment to collaborating with the executive arm to expedite the state's development for the benefit of the people.

On November 22, the Governor presented the budget proposal of N250.1 billion for the 2024 fiscal year to the parliament.
