IMN Calls for Prosecution of Perpetrators of 2015 Zaria Massacre
The Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) has issued a call for the legal prosecution of those responsible for the massacre that took place in Zaria, Kaduna State, on December 12, 2015.

During a press briefing held in Abuja on Tuesday to mark the 8th anniversary of the tragic event, Prof. Dauda Nalado, a member of the Islamic Movement, expressed the group's gratitude to those who supported them during that difficult period.

He stated, "As you are all aware, tyranny and injustice never flourishes, and there is always a day of reckoning. We will never forget whatever oppression meted out to us."

He reiterated the group's demand for justice, insisting that those who orchestrated and carried out the Zaria massacre must be held accountable. He said, "We wish to extend our appreciation to all those who stood by us during the trying moments."

Nalado also took the opportunity to denounce the war crimes committed by Israel in Gaza and expressed the movement's solidarity with the Palestinian struggle.

He said, "We wish to once again join hands with other well-meaning Nigerians to condemn the Tudun-Biri massacre of yet another group of innocent Muslims who gathered to celebrate the Maulud of our noble Prophet Muhammad (SAAW). The avoidable act was committed in the name of ‘mistake’ by the Nigerian security forces."

He boldly stated that the unfortunate silence or even applause following the Zaria massacre encouraged the commission of such atrocities in other places.

He said, "The recent condemnations from numerous groups against the Tudun-Biri massacre are commendable. This is therefore another eye-opener as injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."
