Igboho Accuses Buhari of Damaging Economy

Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Igboho, has levelled some strong accusations against former President Muhammadu Buhari. Speaking on Friday, he claimed that Buhari had caused significant damage to the Nigerian economy before handing it over to President Bola Tinubu.

Addressing his followers in Oyo State, the freedom fighter insisted that Tinubu should not be held responsible for the current economic hardship in the country. Speaking in Yoruba, Igboho urged the Yorubas to unite and liberate the Southwest from the influence of armed Fulani herders.

He said, “Tinubu didn’t destroy the government; my pain with Yorubas is that while Buhari was in power, I was shouting that we should unite and free ourselves from this suffering. Buhari has nothing to offer us."

Igboho expressed his frustration that his calls for separation from the Fulani, due to his belief that a united Nigeria cannot work, were not heeded. He said, “Buhari now handed over a government he had destroyed to Tinubu."

He further noted that while some Yorubas are complaining about hunger, the Igbos, who have reportedly driven all Fulanis out of their lands and are farming freely, are not expressing similar complaints. He questioned, “Why can’t Yorubas unite and liberate the Southwest from Fulanis so that our fathers and mothers can return to their farmlands?”

Igboho's comments highlight the ongoing tensions and challenges facing Nigeria, as various groups grapple with economic hardship and security concerns.
