JUST IN: President Tinubu Appoints New Digital Economy Leaders

President Bola Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of several qualified Nigerians to serve in various agencies under the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) will now have Abraham Oshadami serving as the Executive Commissioner for Technical Services, and Rimini Makama as the Executive Commissioner for Stakeholder Management. Meanwhile, the Digital Bridge Institute will be led by Opeyemi Dele-Ajayi, who has been appointed as the President and CEO.

In addition, Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Limited has seen the appointment of Abiodun Attah as Executive Director of Technical Services, Aisha Abdullahi as Executive Director of Finance and Administration, and Jaiyeola Awokoya as Executive Director of Marketing and Business Development.

Galaxy Backbone Limited has also welcomed new leadership with Ibrahim Adepoju Adeyanju taking the helm as Managing Director and CEO. Other appointments at Galaxy Backbone Limited include Mohammed Sani Ibrahim as Executive Director of Finance and Corporate Services, Olusegun Olulade as Executive Director of Customer Centricity and Marketing, and Olumbe Akinkugbe as Executive Director of Digital Exploration and Technical Services.

In a statement released on Thursday, Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, noted that with the reconstitution of the management teams in these agencies, President Tinubu anticipates that these seasoned professionals will deliver excellent service. This is expected to elevate the impact of the digital economy sector on the socio-economic development of the nation.
