FCT Minister Rewards Vigilante Group for Rescuing Kidnapped Victims

The Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike, has commended and rewarded a vigilante group in Kwali Area Council for their bravery in rescuing four kidnapped victims. The minister presented an operational vehicle and an undisclosed cash reward to the group during his visit to Kaita Gembu community in Kwali, where he inspected an ongoing road project.

Wike praised the vigilante group for their display of courage and encouraged them to continue tackling insecurity in their communities. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between residents and the FCT Administration to eliminate criminal elements and their activities in the territory.

The minister also highlighted the significance of rural road projects across the six area councils of the FCT, which are part of President Bola Tinubu's efforts to boost economic activities in rural areas. He assured residents that the current administration is addressing the challenge of inadequate infrastructure in rural areas.

Wike urged residents to support the government's efforts to improve the livelihood of rural dwellers rather than participating in the planned protest on August 1, which he described as an attempt by selfish individuals to cause mayhem. He called on community leaders to shun those disguising as anti-government protesters with intentions to unleash violence.
