Military Threatens Intervention in #EndBadGovernance Protests

The Nigerian military has warned that it may intervene to control the looting crisis and identify sponsors of the ongoing #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protests. Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, made this announcement at a press conference in Abuja on Friday.

Musa stated that the military is supporting the police and is on standby, ready to step in if the situation exceeds the police's capacity. He acknowledged the protesters' grievances but urged them to understand the Federal Government's efforts.

The CDS condemned the high level of destruction on the first day of the protests, describing it as "crazy". He warned that the military and security agencies will not allow the country to be destroyed and will take professional action against looters and sponsors.

Musa emphasized that anyone caught looting or stealing will be prosecuted, and the military will identify and pursue those behind the violence. He urged Nigerians to work together to overcome the country's challenges.
