Nigeria Rugby League Appoints Bolu Fagborun as Women's Team Head Coach

The Nigeria Rugby League has announced the appointment of Bolu Fagborun as the head coach of the women's national team, ahead of the World Cup qualifiers against Kenya. Fagborun brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to his new role, having previously led the national men's team to victory in the MEA Championship 2022 in Ghana and the prestigious MEA Championship title in 2024.

The upcoming World Cup qualifiers present a significant opportunity for the women's team to showcase their talent and determination on the international stage. With Fagborun at the helm, the Nigeria Rugby League is confident of the team's prospects for success. A victory under Fagborun's leadership would secure a spot for the women's team in the World Series next year.

Ade Adebisi, vice chairman of the Nigeria Rugby League, expressed his enthusiasm for Fagborun's appointment, stating, "We are thrilled to have Bolu Fagborun take on the role of head coach for our women's national team. His exceptional coaching abilities and previous successes with the men's team make him the ideal choice to lead our women as they strive to qualify for the World Cup."

The Nigeria Rugby League and its supporters are eagerly anticipating the qualifiers and are committed to providing all necessary support to the women's team as they embark on this crucial journey. The first match against Kenya is scheduled for September 19 in Nairobi, Kenya, with the return match set for September 22 in the same city.
