Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Deputy Chairman, Chief Olabode George, has attributed the ongoing crises within the party to the personal ambitions of certain chieftains.
George emphasized that these individual aspirations are obstructing genuine reconciliation efforts and may prolong the party's internal strife.
"Elders of the party must intervene to address the personalized ambitions of individuals, which is detrimental to our party's progress," George stated. He reminisced about the PDP's founding fathers, led by the late Dr. Alex Ekwueme, who prioritized inclusivity by dividing Nigeria into six zones and distributing top positions accordingly.
George expressed concerns that clinging to personal ambitions may lead to marginalization and exclusion, undermining the party's foundation. He also urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to restructure the country, promoting true federalism to address the nation's challenges.
