Matawalle mourns as 14 PDP supporters die in Zamfara crash
GOVERNOR Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State has declared three-day mourning for the 14 PDP supporters who lost their lives in a motor accident on Wednesday.

A statement on Thursday by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Alhaji Zailani Baffa, read, “Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle condoles the families of all the deceased who lost their lives following an accident near Chafe Town in the state.”

“Similarly, the governor ordered the observance of three-day mourning in honour of the departed souls. Moreover, all flags should fly at half mast.”

Baffa further stated, “The accident occurred on 26th August around 5.30pm when a truck lost control and crushed four saloon cars, instantly killing about 14 passengers.”

The Public Relations Officer of the party in the state, Alhaji Faruku Shattima, said the victims were part of the people who went to welcome Governor Bello Matawalle as he was returning to the state from Abuja after some days of official engagement.
