Kwara community warns kingmakers against wrong choice of candidate
SHARE

One of the ruling houses, Dada ruling house in Share, Ifelodun local government area of Kwara state has urged the kingmakers to choose the right candidate to the throne of Olupako of Share.

The other ruling house is Akinyode.

The stool became vacant November last year following the death of the10th Olupako, Alhaji Abubakar Garba (Dosunmu ll).

Therefore, the Head, Dada ruling House (Ile Oluloke) Alhaji Bolaji Azeez has said that Prince Adeniran Alabi Johnson is the candidate of the ruling house, adding that Mohammed Sogo Olupako remains the candidate of Akinyode ruling house.

Alhaji Azeez denied the candidature of any other apart from the above-named persons.

He said that “the people’s candidate presented by the Dada Ruling House, Share is Surveyor (Prince) Adediran Alabi Johnson who is the choice of the ruling house and also a retired Principal, Mohammed Sogo Olupako, a candidate from Akinyode ruling house, Share.

“We advise the kingmakers to make their right choice from these two candidates: Surveyor (Prince) Adediran Alabi Johnson (Dada Ruling House) and Mohammed Sogo Olupako (Akinyode Ruling House) for the stool of Olupako of Share.”

He added that other names reportedly picked by the kingmakers did not have the right of ascension to the stool of Olupako.

He said: “Letters of petitions against those names were submitted to the Kingmakers and the Chairman, Traditional Council of Obas of Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State headed by Elesie of Igbaja on the basis of wrong procedures in selecting the two candidates you wrote to have hailed from Dada Ruling House for the stool of Olupako of Share. The voting process as reported by your newspaper as well was antithetical and lacked truth in the selection
of a candidate for the stool of Olupako of Share.

It is pertinent to be on record that Odofin Oloopo-Oye, Magaji Are and Elemosho Adeyi as members of the kingmakers admonished the kingmakers to avoid bias and antithetical selection of Olupako of Share by randomly selecting representatives from Ile Oluloke and Ile Olu-Isale
to form a quorum and ensure fair selection of a candidate for the stool of Olupako of Share.

“The Igbimo Share Maje Ko Baje also lent their helping hands to the kingmakers by compiling a comprehensive write-up to guide the kingmakers in making the right selection.”
