A 20-year-old motorcyclist, Tailat Quadri was on Thursday arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court for allegedly driving against traffic rules.
The accused person was said to have committed the offence on November 18, 2020 around 9:30 am at Olaiya junction in Osogbo.
Police prosecutor, Inspector Jacob Akintunde told the court that the motorcyclist in charge of one Bajaj motorcycle with registration number RLG 743 UY drove against traffic rules.
He furthered told the court that the accused person drove without driver’s license, road worthiness and insurance certificate.
The offence committed was contrary to and punishable under Sections 18(1),7,21(b),142 and 139 Cap 548 of the RTA Laws of Nigeria 2002 and 2015.
However, the motorcyclist who was facing a five count charge pleaded not guilty to the allegations preferred against him.
Defence Counsel, Obi-Esika Iyalla made an oral application for the bail of the accused person in most liberal term.
In his ruling, Magistrate A.A Adeyeba granted the accused person bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
The case was adjourned till January 21, 2021 for mention.
