The kidnapping of two students from the Federal University of Lafia by kidnappers who invaded the school community at 7 p.m. on Saturday was confirmed by the Nasarawa State Police Command on Sunday.
ASP Ramhan Nansel, the state's Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident, saying the students were abducted on Saturday evening but the command didn't learn about it until Sunday afternoon.
"The students were kidnapped yesterday evening in Mararaba," ASP Nansel said, "but we did not receive any report of the incident until this afternoon."
"However, I assure you that we will do everything possible to save them from the kidnappers, as men from our Anti-kidnapping unit have been dispatched to conduct a thorough search of the area's bushes and mountains."

He did, however, issue a warning to all criminal elements in Nasarawa to leave the state as soon as possible.
ASP Nansel urged residents of the state to continue to provide useful information to the police so that they can better serve the public.
