The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) arrested DCP Abba Kyari on 14th February 2022.
Kyari was apprehended when the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) issued a warrant for his arrest due to his ties to a drug cartel.
At a news conference, NDLEA's spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, described how Kyari was a member of a narcotics cartel operating on the Brazil-Ethiopia-Nigeria illicit drug route.
Recall that Kyari was suspended over his alleged involvement with an international fraudster, Ramon Abbas, known as Hushpuppi.
Hushpuppi and his group were accused of benefiting from a heist by the former Intelligence Response Team, IRT, boss.
