The University of Benin Law Class of 1985 got together for a reunion celebration in Benin City to keep their bonds strong and brainstorm ways to support their alma mater, especially the Faculty of Law, University of Benin.
It was a moment to celebrate friendship at the law class of 1985, University of Benin, Gathered for the first time in Benin City after 37 years of graduation.
In a remark, the chairman of the 1985 law class of the University of Benin, Dr. Roland Otaro, said the reunion has afforded them the opportunity to come under one umbrella of love, friendship, and unity to discuss issues affecting them. He said it was also an avenue to discuss ways of giving back to the faculty of law, the UNiversity of Benin, where they passed through 37 years ago.
The chairman of the occasion and Vice-Chancellor, University of Benin, Professor Lilian Imuetinyan Salami who was represented by the Dean, Faculty of Law, UNIBEN, Violet Aigbokhaevbo, commended most students for making an indelible impact on their chosen careers and their support for the faculty of law, UNIBEN.
A member of the set and Zonal Director, NTA Benin Zonal Network Center, Pauline Igbanor, expressed gratitude to God over the outstanding success many of the members have made since they departed UNIBEN.
Earlier, Professor Vincent Akpotarie delivered a lecture on "True Federalism: The Imperative of Resource Control". He said Nigeria is not currently practicing Federalism, defining true federalism as absolute freedom to federating regions to control their natural resources and contribute to maintaining commerce services.
