On Saturday, Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP), paid a visit to Abia Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
Obi travelled to Umuobiakwa, a rural residence in the Obingwa local government region, where Ikpeazu lived.
Onyebuchi Ememanka, the governor's spokesman, released a statement regarding the meeting.
Ikpeazu was informed by Obi that he was in Abia for a function at the Mater Dei Catholic Cathedral Umuahia.
According to the statement, the visit "complied with official courtesies and protocols."
Ikpeazu presented Obi with the first ever Abia State Long Term Development Plan and the Abia State Industrial Policy.
The documents were presented to him on Friday by ECOWAS Representative at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
