Breaking: Kuje Bombing: Soldiers block entry, exit routes in Kuje
In response to the late-night terrorist attack at the Kuje prison, soldiers manning strategic checkpoints in and out of the city are currently preventing drivers from entering and exiting the city.

People were seen getting out of their cars and walking back to their houses. Because there had been no movement for the previous hour, a passenger joked that he had called his wife to "prepare semovita" for him.

Until the situation is under control completely, commercial drivers and owners of private vehicles also made a U-turn back to the city.

According to news reporters, both the exit route from Kuje leading to Gwagwalada and the Kuje road leading to the airport highway have been blocked.

The Defence Ministry has been conducting non-stop aerial patrols for the last three hours.

The Custodial Center in the Kuje area council of the Federal Capital Territory was attacked, as previously confirmed by the Nigerian Correctional Service.

It read, “I wish to confirm that at about 2200hrs, some yet-to-be-identified gunmen attacked the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Kuje, in the Federal Capital Territory.

“However, men of the Armed Squad of the Nigerian Correctional Service and other security agencies attached to the Custodial Centre have responded and calm has been restored to the facility and the situation is under control.”
