According to The Telegraph, Chelsea is now in talks with five defenders as they try to strengthen their backline this summer.
Presnel Kimpembe, Kalidou Koulibaly, Jules Kounde, Matthijs de Ligt, and Nathan Ake are the five players.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is in desperate need of defensive additions ahead of the forthcoming new season as a result of the losses of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.
Recall that Christensen signed with Barcelona this summer, while Rudiger joined Real Madrid.
According to reports, Chelsea and Manchester City are in negotiations to recruit Ake as their center-back after reaching a personal agreement.
The Blues are also in talks to sign Kounde, Kimpembe, De Ligt, and Koulibaly with Sevilla, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, and Napoli.
De Ligt, on the other hand, is rumored to favor a transfer to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
