The club where it all started for Luis Suarez will be his new home. Nacional, a Uruguayan team, has declared his comeback. The forward has a contract that runs through 2022. Following the expiration of his Atletico Madrid contract, he joins the team on a free transfer.
What a great acquisition Nacional made. Luis Suarez, a 35-year-old striker, has joined the Uruguayan team. A football player who made his debut as a pro there is back with a tonne of success and experience.
When he signed with Groningen at age 19, "El Pistolero" departed Nacional. After that, he transferred to Ajax before joining Liverpool during the 2010–11 season's January transfer window. He established himself there. In the summer of 2014, Barca contacted him, and six years later, he left the Camp Nou after speaking on the phone with Ronald Koeman, the team's then-manager, who informed the Uruguayan that he did not want him available for the 2020–21 season.
Diego Pablo Simeone persuaded Suarez to join Atletico because he was interested in his services. The Uruguayan helped the team win La Liga that year. He leaves Colchon after two campaigns and goes back to his country of birth, Uruguay.
The Nacional fan base is jubilant with his victory. This was shown during their most recent game against Cerrito. In the ninth minute of the game, 15,000 fans honoured him by donning masks with his image on them.
It was Luis Suarez's responsibility to make public the pre-agreement he had reached with Nacional. The striker has now formally announced his move.
