Olumuyiwa Popoola has been recognised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, for becoming a member of the Nigerian Academy of Letters (NAL).
Ajayi Crowther University's Deputy Vice Chancellor and eminent scholar Professor Olumuyiwa Popoola teaches journalism, communication, and media studies.
He was guided by fate to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where, in 1999, he earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Hons in Mass Communication with First Class and won awards for being the department's top graduating student and the faculty's top final-year student.
At the University of Lagos, he later earned a Masters of Science (M.Sc) in mass communication.
He was honoured in Nsukka for recording the program's top performance and receiving the University teaching assistantship award.
He was honoured at the University of Ibadan with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Media and Cultural Studies, satisfying his unquenchable need for knowledge.
Muyiwa Popoola has held a number of positions throughout the years, including Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Director of the Media Center, Head of the Department of Communication and Media Studies, and Member of the Governing Council.
Muyiwa Popoola has a happy marriage and kids.
