2023: PDP, Atiku Abubakar set to announce campaign council
The opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, have come to an agreement to declare the presidential campaign council that would carry out plans and strategies in the upcoming elections as part of the preparations for the 2023 general election.

According to a source familiar with party operations, several party leaders have recently voiced their unhappiness over the ongoing turmoil inside the organisation and have recommended Atiku to move forward with party members who were prepared to run in the 2023 elections.

According to the source, the former vice president has been told to organise the campaign council before the election.

He said, “We appreciate the Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike as a strong pillar of this party, he is very important to us. But other members are also important. We have to move on.”

When contacted, the spokesperson of Atiku, Paul Ibe, said his boss would carry all critical party members along in his campaign council.
