Adamawa 2023: PRP candidate unveils running mate
The People's Redemption Party (PRP) candidate for governor of Adamawa State, Lt. Commodore Ibrahim Babainan (rtd), announced Mrs. Rebecca Audu as his running mate over the weekend in Yola.

According to Babainan, his deputy was chosen following thorough internal and external searches.

He also revealed that her track record in the political and civil service made her a good candidate for the job.

According to Babainan, the PRP has established a permanent presence in the state and, for the first time ever, it has candidates running for every elected office in the state with the exception of one seat in the Federal House of Representatives.

He said: “Our great party has filed candidates in three seats of the Senate, 25 seats for State House of Assembly and Seven out of eight seats of the Federal House of Representatives and the governorship candidate with his running mate for the 2023 general elections in Adamawa State.

“With the caliber of candidates being fielded by the party, l am not afraid of the forthcoming general elections in 2023.”

He claimed that these candidates are fearless enough to take on the candidates from other parties in the elections of 2023.

The gubernatorial candidate said that the meeting's other purposes included introducing his deputy and setting up a retreat for PRP candidates to rethink their campaign strategies and win over voters to the party in the state.

“We are not going to use violence but wisdom and intelligence and also to brainstorm on how we will win elections in the state,” he said.

Political veteran Mrs. Rebecca Audu expressed her gratitude to her principal for picking her to be his running mate in the general elections of 2023 during her speech.

On the other hand, she praised the party for supporting Babainan and urged the party faithful to work tirelessly to achieve the party's win in the state.
