Ander Herrera will continue to play for Athletic Bilbao through 2024, and he is extremely close to doing so. The midfielder will join Ernesto Valverde's squad at San Mames as a free agent after his contract with PSG expires.
Ander Herrera, one of the club's top players, will soon join Athletic Bilbao. The midfielder will end his spell in Paris and join Ernesto Valverde's San Mames team.
Before moving to Manchester United in 2015, Valverde coached the midfielder during his final campaign in Bilbao. After that, PSG acquired him in 2019. He will now break his contract and join Athletic Bilbao for nothing.
According to ‘Marca’, the Parisians will terminate his cointract and even the player himself will renounce the money he is owed in order to move to Athletic Bilbao. He will renounce part of his contract, which was until 2024, and also an important amount on 40% of the transfer bonus.
The player will return to the Spanish league and he will do so for the next two seasons, in other words, until 2024. Nevertheless, the contract could include a possible extension if a series of targets are met.
