Daniel Francis has agreed to a three-year contract with Bayern Munich after being selected for the Golden Eaglets team in the 2019 U-17 World Cup.
Francis served as the captain of the Bayern World Squad team and made an impression while he was there, winning a professional contract from the team's managers.
The 18-year-old midfielder has been loaned to Austria Klagenfurt of the Austrian Bundesliga, where he will presumably brush up on his skills and get ready for the future.
The player from FC Hearts of Abuja made just one appearance for the Golden Eaglets in Brazil, against Hungary.
Head of FC Bayern Campus Jochen Sauer stated;
“Daniel played to the fore during his time in the FC Bayern World Squad and acted very conspicuously in the test games. He’s attracted the interest of a number of clubs, so we’re delighted he’s signed and that he can now gain match practice at Austria Klagenfurt.”
The midfielder was chosen as captain from a team of 24 players who underwent training under Klaus Augenthaler and Ze Roberto in Rio De Janeiro and Munich.
