The afrobeats icon Davido has given an explanation for why he flies home to Nigeria right away after each performance overseas.
Davido declared that he must return home, even if it's only for a little while, because he loves his motherland.
He recalled that when his parents left Nigeria as a child, he would always cry and beg them to bring him back.
Because the nation is fortunate, he challenged the leaders to do a better job of reaping the benefits of democracy.
He wrote: ‘’People always wonder why I fly back home after gigs. Funny enough when we used to come to America on holiday as a kid l’d cry to my parents that I wanna go back to Naija.
“Really love being in Nigeria. Even if I have 4 hours to be in Naija, I go run am! No place like! Our leaders need to do better, the country is blessed.”
