Eno Ubi Otu, the director of finance and accounts for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has been taken into custody by EFCC agents.
Mr. Otu is currently being questioned about a purported N25 billion fraud.
The finance director is accused of being involved in the theft of approximately N25 billion in tax remittances.
As of the time of publication, the suspect who entered the Commission in the early hours of August 24, 2022, was still being questioned.
According to a source, the arrest was a small element of a bigger probe into the NDDC's forensic audit report.
Wilson Uwujaren, the Commission's spokesman, could not be reached for comment.
