Victor Osimhen, the top player for Napoli, has earned plaudits from former Napoli great Bruno Giordano for his strong start to the current season.
Osimhen is the catalyst in Napoli’s system, according to Giodano, a 1987 Serie A champion with the Neapolitans, who also noted that he possesses various abilities.
He claimed that the Super Eagles forward makes everyone on the Napoli club feel just as important.
Giordano stated that the Nigerian forward heads the ball better than legendary Manchester United and Real Madrid player Cristiano Ronaldo, in a comparison that is sure to spark some controversy.
“We are talking about an incredible player, and we are not discovering him now,” Giordano told Il Mattino via Calcio Napoli 24.
“He opens gaps for his teammates, walks the defences and then scores. He does not give up and is always the protagonist : he plays every ball as if it were the one of life.”
He said the Nigerian, who scored seven headers last season is more substantial in that area than the legendary Portuguese forward.
“The header. In this fundamental he is even stronger than Cristiano Ronaldo.”
Ronaldo has scored 122 headed goals in his career including in major tournaments. His supreme heading technique is regarded as one of the best in football.
