The local government council elections held in Ebonyi State on July 30th have been declared invalid by the Federal High Court sitting in Abakaliki, the state capital.
The newly elected council chairmen and councillors will be sworn in on September 1, 2022, just six days from now.
All of the chairmanship and councillor positions were won by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The elections were declared invalid by the court on Thursday due to violations of section 150 of the Electoral Act 2022 and other laws.
