On Monday, the Nigerian Police Force stated that, despite a publication by the Police Service Commission (PSC), the recruiting process for the 2022 class of constables has not yet begun.
In a statement released in Abuja, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), stated this.
He said that on August 11 the PSC had published information on the start of the Nigeria Force's 2022 batch of constable recruiting in select areas of the media.
“The Nigeria Police Force wishes to inform the public that it has not commenced recruitment process for the 2022 batch of Constables into the Nigeria Police Force contrary to a publication by the PSC.
“The Police similarly states unequivocally that the advert has no connection with the Nigeria Police Force nor is it in tandem with the Police recruitment process.
“The publication should be disregarded in all its entirety,” he said.
He claims that the Nigeria Police Force is not connected to the website www.recruitment.psc.gov.ng, which the magazine directs prospective candidates to.
All interested parties and prospective candidates were urged by him to disregard the information in the magazine and on the web.
According to Adejobi, the website is not the official recruitment site for police constables.
The official police e-recruitment website, he claimed, would announce the start of the 2022 recruitment drive.
The Nigeria Police Force's official website, according to Adejobi, would also provide information to the general public.
As soon as the time came, he added, it would also be advertised on national newspapers' websites and on official police social media accounts.
