Gani Adams, a traditional aristocrat and activist from Nigeria, has asked all the South-West governors to be vigilant after learning that terrorists are establishing camps in the forests of the states of Osun, Ogun, and Oyo.
Remember that there have been rumours of a potential terrorist attack in the state, but SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the public relations officer for the Lagos State Police, said at a Twitter Space webinar on Saturday that all security agencies are on high alert and prepared.
In a statement released by his spokesman, Kehinde Aderemi, the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land revealed this and urged the governors to appoint local security service institutions in their respective local governments.
The statement reads, “We are aware of their plans to strike in Lagos, Ibadan, Oyo State and Abeokuta in Ogun State, however, I implore all the governors in the south-west to recruit local security service structure in their various local governments.
“Information reaching me today is that the terrorists are in-between Osu forest and Ile Ife, Osun State, fully armed with various ammunition and they are presently in the forest between Abeokuta and Ibadan planning to attack us in the south-west.”
