The Gombe State Government has allocated a sum of N802,326,576m to deal with ecological issues that some of the state's highways are experiencing.
Abubakar Bappah, the state's commissioner for works, made this statement while briefing reporters soon after the State Executive Council meeting.
He said that the amount for urgent repairs of some washed-out roads in various sections of the state, notably in the rural areas, had been approved during the meeting, which Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya had presided over.
He claims that the state's ecological money will be used to support the rehabilitation of the roads, and that the state government and the municipal governments in question will each contribute 45% and 55%, respectively.
According to him, the following contractors were responsible for the roads' completion, which will take one to two months: CGC Nigeria Limited, SKECC Company, ECC International, Annuri Links, and Grandscope Nigeria Limited.
He claims that the Yamaltu/Deba, Shongom, Akko, and Billiri Local Government Areas of the State, which total seven roads, need maintenance.
The roads in question are the Hinna-Shinga-Gwani-Wade road, the Daban Fulani-Gwani-Kinafa road, the Panguru road with culverts, the Boh-Lalaipido road, the Kumo township road, the Mararaba Tumu-Pindiga-Kashere road, and the Kashere-Billiri road with culverts.
