Ifeanyi Okowa felicitates with Warri monarch on coronation anniversary
Sen. (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, governor of Delta and vice-presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has wished the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, a happy first anniversary of his coronation.

In a statement released in Asaba by his chief press secretary, Olisa Ifeajika, the governor praised the exalted throne-holder for establishing peace and a business-friendly environment in Warri Kingdom since assuming the throne.

He said that during that time, the king had also played a key role in various economic endeavours to revive trade in his realm.

The Atuwatse was characterised by Okowa as "a man of peace, a bridge-builder, and great honesty" whose administration had already resulted in improved conditions for both the kingdom and his subjects.

He also commended the revered royal father for his unwavering support for good governance and awakening of consciousness for civic responsibility, and for rallying his subjects in that direction.

He expressed conviction that the monarch was a great beacon of hope for his people and encouraged him to remain steadfast on his mission to ensure that the people had good life, and peace in the state.

“On behalf of the government and people of Delta, I warmly congratulate His Royal Majesty, the Olu of Warri, Atuwatse III, on the occasion of his 1st coronation anniversary.

“I join the people of Iwere nation in celebrating a great monarch and wishing him good health, wisdom and strength as he continues with the responsibility of leading his people traditionally and culturally.

“In the last one year on the throne, Atuwatse III, has provided exemplary and impactful leadership by living above board, while remaining as the rallying point and inspiration for the Itsekiri people in particular, Deltans and Nigerians in general.

“I must commend your dexterity in keeping and managing the culture and tradition of Iwere people by promoting harmony, socio-cultural cooperation, communal living and peaceful co-existence among the Itsekiri and other ethnic groups in the state,” the governor stated.

He urged the king to hold God first in all his endeavours, and prayed that the Almighty Father would give him long life and good health as he shepherds his people traditionally and culturally.
