Ijaw group vows to resist threat against Timipre Sylva, Government Tompolo
The Ijaw Interest Advocates (IIA), also known as the Izanzan Intellectual Camp, have sworn to thwart any threat that may end the Niger Delta's relative tranquilly.

Izanzan was responding to threats made by a "faceless" pro-Ijaw organisation against Timipre Sylva, Minister of Petroleum Resources, Tompolo, and other Niger Delta stakeholders on a contract for pipeline surveillance that had been given to Tompolo.

Its National Coordinator, Amb. Arerebo Salaco Yerinmene SNR, issued a statement yesterday in which the group called their behaviour "a display of greediness" and bemoaned how depressing it was to witness so-called Ijaws enmity their relatives.

Noting that the surveillance contract was a far cry from what was due the oil-rich region, the statement charged the “gun gang” to direct their efforts towards engaging the Federal Government on other projects that will benefit Niger Delta people.
