Gunmen are said to have kidnapped a traditional head and three others near the Agopanu axis on the Owo-Ikare road in Ondo State.

The victims include the Oniku of Iku, High Chief Mukaila Bello, a former House of Assembly Candidate for Akoko North-East Constituency Yèyé Gbafinro, an APC chieftain, Hon. Adeniran Adeyemo, and a community leader, Bashiru Adekile.

According to reports, the driver of their vehicle was shot by the gunmen and is now being treated at the Federal Medical Center in Owo.

Prime9jaOnlineMedia gathered that the victims were abducted Thursday evening while traveling from Akure to Ikare.

When contacted, Funmi Odunlami, the state police command's spokesperson, asked for more time to investigate the incident.

The kidnappers had yet to contact the families of the victims or demand a ransom.

The kidnapping and attack occurred only a few weeks after an armed gang attacked a construction company in Owo, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu's hometown.
