Alhaji Nuhu Abdulkadir, the Kauran Katsina and District Head of Rimi (Hakimin Rimi) in Katsina State, has passed away.
After a brief illness, the traditional chieftain passed away at his home in the State's Rimi local government region.
In the early hours of Tuesday, a family member named Alhaji Aminu Nuhu Abdulkadir verified the traditional leader's passing.
His burial will take place later that day in accordance with Islamic customs as preparations for the funeral ceremonies were well under way.
Hakimin Rimi was one of the 40 Kingmakers on the Katsina Emirate Council until his death.
According to news sources, the traditional king recently marked 40 years as king of Rimi.
