Nike Adeyemi, a well-known clergywoman, recently told couples that God is their source and not their spouses, prompting a range of responses.

On Thursday, August 4, Nike, the spouse of Sam Adeyemi, the head pastor of Daystar Christian Centre, tweeted the post that has since stirred a discussion among couples online.

According to her, couples should learn to trust God as their source and not their partners.

“Your spouse is not your source, God is!” She tweeted.

However, the post elicited a variety of replies from Twitter users. Others supported Nike's position, but some countered that it is a man's God-given duty to be his wife's protector, supplier, and source.
