Nigerians, particularly religious leaders, have been urged by President Muhammadu Buhari to pray diligently for a country that is secure and at peace.
In a statement released on Wednesday by his media adviser, Femi Adesina, the president urged all Nigerians, particularly religious leaders, to step up their prayers for the country's security and stability.
He congratulated Most Rev Oliver Ali Aba, who is the Archbishop of Benue and Prelate-elect of the Methodist Church of Nigeria.
The 48th/13th Biennial Conference of the country's largest church, which took place in Abuja and produced a new leader, was praised by the president for being orderly and transparent.
In addition, President Buhari praised the departing Prelate, Samuel Chukwuemeka Uche, for his contributions to the church's spiritual and material development throughout a nine-year period.
As Prelate-elect, Oliver Aba, assumes office on December 1, 2022, the president wished him a successful stewardship, while urging him to build on the laudable legacies of the out-going Prelate.
