The Lagos State Police Command announced yesterday that it has tightened security around places of worship and recreation centres in the city in response to reports that some terrorist groups were planning to launch coordinated assaults on a number of significant cities in Nigeria.
The information about the terrorist strike that was intended to target important cities, such as Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), had gone widespread on social media.
Recall how terrorists carried out a number of strikes in several FCT suburbs over the course of the previous week, killing and kidnapping some victims in the process.
The State Intelligence Bureau (SIB) and units, according to Lagos State Commissioner of Police Abiodun Alabi, have been placed on high alert.
He told the community that they could go about their legitimate business without worry and that the command was collaborating with sister security agencies to guarantee protection.
